14 Point Plan for Boardroom Diversity introduced at the WomenCorporateDirectors Global Institute. Technology Panel Talks about Security, Social Media, and Big Data.

The WomenCorporateDirectors Third Annual Global Institute was held earlier this week in New York and revealed its roadmap for decision-makers on "Improving Diverse Representation in the Boardroom" . The 14 point plan introduced provides concrete steps companies can take to get more women in corporate boardrooms.

Jeanette Horan, CIO of IBM, was one of the many outstanding panelists speaking to the impressive women who came from across the country and around the world to attend the WomenCorproateDirectors Initiative. Jeanette was part of the technology panel which also included Clara Shih, CEO of Hearsay Social, Andrea Drew of the Naval War College, and experienced entrepreneur Myla Crespo-Villanueva. Jeanette explained why employees must be a part of any company solution for better security. Myla talked about how mobile developed differently in Asia than it did in the U.S. - a facinating discussion of how the economy, culture and geography of a country impacts its business models. Clara Shih discussed the use of data to personalize the customer experience, and Andrea Drew reminded us that "small is beautiful". Many problems can be solved using a "local' approach first. The panel was amazing. Get to know Clara Shih as she talks about social media:
