NewsonWomen posted on the appointment of 28 women to Corporate Boards of Directors in January 2012. This is the highest number of appointments I have posted in the first month of the year over the past six years, beating out last year's record of 22 January appointments. Major companies appointing women to their Boards in January, 2012 included Google who appointed Diane Greene, the Co-Founder of VMware, to its Board of Directors. Also appointing women to their boards were Corning, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Netflix, Grace, and Marsh & McLennan.
