Dr. Jo Boaler is a Professor of Mathematics Education in the Stanford School of Education. She doesn't ask if girls are good at math. She looks at why the girls aren't learning it as well as boys in some cases. She believes we should be looking at the way we teach math rather than whether girls are good at it. Her answer is as simple as changing how math is taught in the classroom. Read how a different approach to teaching math improves the performance of girls in her presentation made at the Clayman Institue for Gender Research.
