The glass ceiling is a thing of the past if the Wall Street Journal is any indication of what's to come in 2012. In the WSJ article, "Three CFO's With a Shot at the Corner Office", Maxwell Murphy features three CFO's who are candidates to be a Chief Executive Officer. One of them, Cathie Lesjak of HP (pictured), already served as interim CEO for that company. But the most interesting thing for me in this article is the "CFO Watch List" compiled, which is 42% female. Yes, almost half of the 12 people on the list of prospective CEO's are women, inlcuding Christine Komola of Staples and Sabrina Simmons at The Gap. Check out the other women cfo's listed who could be ceo's in the future in the article on wsj.com. No surprise the picture in the article shows three men climbing the ladder. We'll have to work on the visuals!
